Partial Fail Sensing File Systems

Submitted by lcde
lcde writes "I have recently been acquainted with the IRON file system through a journal paper from Madison's Computer Science department. Since a hard drive typically does not fail completely it is good to have a file system that can understand when the hard drive is failing and make adjustments to the data to minimize losses.

So my questions to Slashdot are: Which file systems have plans on implementing Partial Fail Sensing mechanisms? And if not, why not?"

Be free and open and breezy! Enjoy! Things won't get any better so get used to it.
