Journal johndiii's Journal: Sheryl Crow 3

Just got back from Sheryl's concert at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. She sure does give a good show. The concert was part of a three-day rodeo and music event, the Texas Stampede, which benefits Children's Medical Center and the pediatric programs of University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The set list:
  • Steve McQueen
  • There Goes The Neighborhood
  • My Favorite Mistake
  • Sweet Rosalyn
  • The First Cut Is The Deepest
  • Leaving Las Vegas
  • Strong Enough
  • If It Makes You Happy
  • A Change (Would Do You Good)
  • Home
  • Picture (Tim Smith singing the Kid Rock part
  • All I Wanna Do
  • Soak Up The Sun
  • I Shall Believe
  • Peace, Love, and Understanding (encore)

I think that the intense guitars from Steve McQueen (actually all of the first three songs), and the semi-funkiness of Sweet Rosalyn, cleared out a lot of the country fans. Sheryl has more than a touch of country in her, but she was pretty much all rock and roll tonight. Even Picture was fairly rock-ish. I actually liked Tim Smith better than Kid Rock. As always, I got a great rush from the guitar riffs leading into If It Makes You Happy, and I loved the energy of Soak Up The Sun. Home was as haunting as ever, and I loved hearing I Shall Believe in concert for the first time. All in all, a very enjoyable show.

  • For a second, I thought that was going to be an obit or something.

So glad it's not bad news. I like Sheryl Crow. :-)

    • Nah, I would have put something in the subject line. More likely, I would have just disappeared from sight for a couple of days. :-) Sheryl was very much alive, in leather pants and a denim vest. ;-)
    • How could news about her be bad when she has a biking god chasing her?

Can't open /usr/fortunes. Lid stuck on cookie jar.
