Journal jawtheshark's Journal: A poem to The Flower Girl 3

My Flower Girl

Out of the jabber from the internet,
Our souls connected and met.
Just radiating kindness and care,
Illuminating existence as a bright flare.

I met her for real, on a royal rainy night,
What I saw: a rose covered in dew.
Het smile like sunshine warm and bright,
I was sold to her, as my head flew.

Yes, I misunderstood her love for more,
And when I opened my feelings,
Reality hit me, and my heart tore.

A period of darkness is what time brings.
She is distant star that never stops shining,
Even when my heart often stings.

She is my flower girl, the flower with thorns,
Unattainable for the mere mortal I am.

A little explanation: last time I saw the Flower Girl we talked about lots of things and one of the things was poetry. I told her that back in my day I did write poems and had a poetry-mailing list. She wanted to read some, but I lost them all in some computer crash and then I promised her I would write one for her. Which is what I did right now.
I first wanted to share it with you, so comments are appreciated.

    • Thanks for the comments, it's a bit late now so I'll sleep over it. This is the first poem I wrote in over 4 years, so that would explain why it got a bit better in the end. ;-)
Anyway, also keep in mind I'm not even a native english speaker... Thanks again for all the tips, you won't make a poet out of this monkey behind is keyboard :-P
