I wanted to post in tuxettes journal. This is what I got:

Slashdot requires you to wait 2 minutes between each successful posting of a comment to allow everyone a fair chance at posting a comment.

It's been 8 minutes since you last successfully posted a commen

Wait a second... 8min > 2min, so I really shouldn't have a problem. WTF???

  • Got to love the on-the-fly code changes. :)
    • Clearly, you are living in the wrong time zone. Your two minutes will catch up to you as soon as GMT is when you are now. I suggest you move to experience the full benefits that slashdot has to offer you. What bothers me is the completely vague "1 minute" message. That's anywhere from one to sixty seconds that I need to wait. Would it be so much trouble to add in the seconds?
      • To hell with Malda and his two minute rule. Maybe he's ducking the crapflooders, but all it makes me do is tell Mozilla to reload the page every ten seconds until it posts. Enjoy the hits Rob. (Would it be so hard to have a system that gradually increases the time between posts?)
  • As in, drop the code on the floor and break it.
  • Here's an easy way to avoid the frustration of getting caught by that stupid 2 minute rule, and get back at Malda simultaneously:

    When you want to reply, type it up, and do not hit the submit button just yet. Just highlight the button and then open a new tab.

    Once you've surfed enough and found another post you want to reply to, type that reply, and highlight the submit button (don't press enter).

    Now if you can trigger both submits before either one completes, both posts will take.
