I think what she means is that, it is more likley a chance of getting hurt for a "routine" traffic stop than a bank robbery in progress. Think about it. You are out there on the side of the road, 2,000+ pound objects flying by you at high speed.
And to think about it. They have picked up some pretty bad guys during a traffic stop.
My previous job had 7/24 hour support. (web hosting) and when I was covering a off-shift, I was a little nervous going to work, because of the drunks out there. I do not mind people going out to to drink, but to get plastered and then hop into a car...
