Stony Stevenson (954022) writes "British and Dutch police have shut down one of the world's largest sources of illegal pre-release music on Tuesday and arrested a 24-year-old man. The raids in Amsterdam and the northeast English city of Middlesbrough followed a two-year investigation into a members-only Web site,, which allowed users to upload and download albums before their release.

An estimated 180,000 members paid 'donations' via debit or credit cards for OiNK's catalogue of music and other media."

scybord writes "Within the last 24 hours, the "go-to" place, OiNK, to download music is now closed and under investigation by the IFPI. The site was an invite only torrent site dedicated to music and music-related applications. The torrent community is going to take a serious blow if invite-only sites start crippling at the hands of feds."

Currently on the site there is a threat to those who used Oink: "A criminal investigation continues into the identities and activities of the site's users". The site boasts the leaking of over 60 major pre-release albums."
