+ - Netroots music video baits big music->

Submitted by henben
henben (578800) writes "The #1 music video on YouTube UK right now — These Rules You Made by "The Schema" is the result of a 30-day netroots project to record, distribute and promote a single without backing from the mainstream music industry.

Indie musician, blogger and journalist Rhodri Marsden recorded the track in his bedroom and arranged distribution on iTunes. The video was filmed by a non-pro crew and the cast were mainly drawn from his Livejournal friends list (http://rhodri.livejournal.com/).

The video satirises the current culture of manufactured "indie" performers like the fake netroots act Sandi Thom.

The total budget for the project currently stands at £540.04.

The official band site and blog is at:

You can also buy the single + B-side DRM-free at https://files.dreamhost.com/41229/rules_wheels.zip "
