Journal eglamkowski's Journal: recipe of the day 2

The slow cooking continues with this Mock Lasagna. It's pretty heavy, so don't eat too much at once, and have some leafy green salad and garlic bread on the side to lighten up the meal and make it more italian like.

10 oz. broad lasagna noodles, broken into bite-size pieces
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound Italian sausage
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
12 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
12 oz. carton cottage cheese
2x 6oz. cans of tomato paste
1/2 cup water
salt & pepper to taste
1.5 tablespoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon basil

Cook noodles according to package directions and drain.

Brown the ground beef and sauage and drain.

Dump everything into the crockpot, mix thoroughly, cook on low for 7-9 hours.
