Journal eglamkowski's Journal: recipe of the day 2
Oink oink! It's piggy eating time, and I'm here with some Korean Pork or Ton Yuk Kui.
5 pounds of fresh pork butt (or tenderloin if you can spare the expense), fat removed and cut into thin slices 2 inches long.
3/4 cup soy sauce (yowzers! Don't put any extra salt on this dish at the table!)
3 tablespoons sugar
2 scallions, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
fresh ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger root, minced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, pulvarized with 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Combine all ingredients in a large shallow broiling pan and place meat in this marinade. Toss and turn to coast well.
Marinate for at least 2 hours at room temperature (or overnight in the refrigerator), turning occasionaly.
When ready to serve, broil in same pan for 5 minutes on each side.
Serve with rice and use the heated marinade as a sauce.
