Journal eglamkowski's Journal: pain 2

Transplated a maple tree yesterday from front yard to back yard. It's only been in the ground maybe 6-8 months and is about 8 feet tall, but damn that was a hard job. Lots of pain today.

Mercifully, my neighbor came out and helped. All I had was a shovel, but he had a mattock, which was a VERY helpful tool.

And then, when tree was loose enough to be pulled out, he got his truck out, we tied some rope around the root bundle, and pulled it out with his truck. No way I could have possibly moved it by myself.

It's a happy thing to have such nice neighbors :)

Now I just have to hope the tree survives the transplanting.

  • The pain you felt was the same pain your Maple might have felt. When your pain disappears, the transplant will be succeeded.

Oh front yard to backyard? So I guess it's a backpain.

It's so American, for you pulled the tree by truck.

    • We tried lifting the tree with our hands, but it was just simply too heavy. Perhaps we could have done some fancy lever system thing, but that would have been too much engineering for a problem like this when we had a truck so readily available :)
