To all my adoring public, I may return to my customary blessed silence for the weekend. Tomorrow I will head to Houston for my
friend's birthday party. In a fit of geekiness, her
husband, and my long time good friend (but not in the sense of "Me love you long time"), is thinking of webcasting it. I don't know exactly how, where, or if the webcasting will happen, but I doubt that anything of interest to the outside world will happen there anyway.
Update:
I posted this as a comment at first, but I guess it should be an update.
I have returned safely from the birthday party. I haven't noticed any brain or liver damage yet, but it's probably difficult to diagnose one's own brain damage. The party was a fairly small affair, with numerous lovely women. Unfortunately, said lovely, intelligent women were all married or practically married. :(
One of the lovely women in question, of Philippine descent, I would guess, is a developer. She does Oracle, Java, etc. for lots of money. She also used to have one of those Black jobs where she got to reply to queries about her work, in some seriousness, "I could could tell you, but I'd have to kill you." How cool is that? Oh, I forgot. I'm told she's also a good cook. I think I may have to hate her husband.
My friend (the husband) more or less successfully geeked. He had a webcam posting shots from the party to his blog every 30 seconds.
It was a good weekend.
