  • How does one define "minimum?" I think the Senate has the responsibility to get their questions answered, subject to some very reasonable guidlines.

  • If not, you should give (dis)credit where it is due. Even better, if your intention is to sling garbage to show its quality, you should practice describing the quality by which it stinks.

    In this specific case, the obvious intent of the Founders was to balance the other two branches against each other. If they just wanted the resident of the White House to simply and directly appoint the federal judiciary without any "interference", there was no reason to involve the Senate at all.   • ...no one is demanding "minimum questioning". We ARE demanding an up or down vote. They can question nominees all they like. And if they want to turn it into a circus, that's fine by me as well, as it will reflect badly on the party of those that do so.
