Submission Reason Rally in DC->

csueiras writes: "The Reason Rally is a movement-wide event sponsored by the country’s major secular organizations. The intent is to unify, energize, and embolden secular people nationwide, while dispelling the negative opinions held by so much of American society and having a damn good time doing it!
It will be the largest secular event in world history. There will be music, comedy, great speakers, and lots of fun and it’s free!" Some of the speakers that I would like to underline are Richard Dawkins, Adam Savage (from Mythbusters) and Greg Graffin (vocalist for Bad Religion)

Comment It definitely is all about culture (Score 0) 534

I am puertorican, and in Puerto Rico many people want their kids grow to be famous baseball players or basketball, etc. I was in little league and apparently I was pretty good. But after some years I lost complete interest. Right now I am about to graduate from my Computer Science degree, with a really good job offer and I have during my academic career achieved a lot of really good things. But my grandmother is always saying how good of a baseball player I could have been and how many millions of dollars I could have made, all of this despite all of my success. So definitely things like this do depend a lot in the culture, some are focused on academic success, others in sports, etc. As someone said earlier, it is all about life perspective.

Comment Panic? (Score 1) 746

The times we live on, everyone seems to be afraid of the guy next door. Can't we all just effin relax and not be paranoid? It is obvious that the person who called the cops was completely paranoid, AK-47? That thing is not even close to resemble an AK47.

But I definitely agree that these guys carrying the model should have covered it not to make people react like this guy. Hopefully it is a lesson learned.

My 2 cents

In space, no one can hear you fart.
