The ideal paranoia group size is 4-10 players and one really tweaked GM. If you don't know the rules, don't worry citizen, they're classified ultraviolet and thus far above your clearance.

I messed around with Jparanoia a bit, and it seems quite adequate, albiet limited to only 6 players. So I personally feel IRC and random generated(or GM assigned) characters would be a better option.

Anyway, for those interested, what time(and timezone) would you want to play?
Update: Both me and GMHowell are available after 21:30 GMT - 5, pretty much any day.

  • Actually, it's gonna be tough for me to find the time to do it. If I can play at all, it'd have to be a one-shot type thing, not a regular campaign (if that's possible with Paranoia...).

  • But I forget the even mentioning of it the first time (been uber busyy lately, with prospect of slow times ahead). Sign me up, I can IRC. We own a #slashdot channel on EFNet.
  • I didn't say anything before, because it was above your security clearance, traitor.
  • Any night after 9:30 EDT. I have to put my first clone to bed first.

      • It works in two ways. First, it's part of the game:) Second, Angela is frequently in favor of telling me that my swimmers have 46 chromosomes, and they kicked her 23 out of the egg. The boy loves his mommy, but emulates his daddy.
  • I love RP'ing, but never even heard of Paranoia... I'm up for a game, though, yo. Any time after 7:30pm EST (when Joey goes to sleep), but no later than 10pm EST on weekdays.
    • Here [geocities.com] is a good intro in how to play the game.

      There aren't any real rules to speak of[and the players aren't allowed to know the ones that do exist!](The GM will often just arbitrarilly decide something, and amusement counts more than the rules in Paranoia), it's a pretty-much straight up RP game.
  • I can be around from 2100 EDT, onward... I'm generally a nite owl and a late riser, anyways.
