+ - Are wireless analog headsets a thing?

Submitted by Tolkien
Tolkien (664315) writes "Once again, I'm in the market for a new headset with mic and I'm tired of having to replace them because of the wire getting continually twisted and tangled to the extent that the headset just stops functioning, is there such a thing as a wireless analog headset? If not, do any of you have ideas on how I could make some? I don't want to purchase a USB headset because they make switching between audio outputs (speakers or headset) an unnecessary annoyance."

+ - Star Citizen needs help getting off the ground->

Tolkien (664315) writes "From the page:

'The traditional publishers don’t believe in PC or Space Sims. Venture Capitalists only want to back mobile or social gaming startups.

I say they’re wrong. I say that there is a large audience of PC gamers that want sophisticated games built for their platform. And inside this audience, a significant group of people that have always loved space games, and if given a quality one again will be happy to play it.'"

My money is on the following:

Microsoft renames Skype to Microsoft Windows Live Speech, Text and Image Communicator in 2015
Microsoft ends Linux support for the Skype client which won't have been updated in 4 years (2017)
Microsoft announces they're replacing the underlying codec technology of Windows Live with it (hopefully, because Microsoft's sucks by comparison) later that same year (2017).

+ - Can I record one channel while watching a different one using Videotron cable?

Submitted by Tolkien
Tolkien (664315) writes "I've been thinking of building a PVR for a long while now but haven't begun because I'm stuck on one question.

The current situation is that I can't record one channel while watching another like I could with my old VCR years ago. I want this to be possible again without having to pay for two cable subscriptions, so given a standard cable box as source provided by Videotron (in Quebec, Canada), can I make this happen using a custom-built PVR? How can I go about doing that?

I'd love any tips or information this great community could provide, thanks!"

I bought Splinter Cell: Conviction at Christmas on Steam with but hadn't installed it yet. Looks like it was a waste of my money. Unsurprising, I should have expected this. Of course they won't spend a dime to patch their games, fuck the community! It's the bottom dollar that matters, I mean really, it's not like the gaming community are the ones who will buy the games, right? I guess I'll have to download a crack to play it.

To err is human -- to blame it on a computer is even more so.
