The Cydonian's Journal: Amidst all the war...

... here's something that I find to be very amusing indeed.

You see, I'm due to fly to a secret European destination from an equally secret Asian location sometime later this week. As usual, I gave a carte-blanche to my minions to book me on any airlines they want, as long as it is comfortable, not terribly expensive and comes with *some* variation from the usual run-of-the-mill airline experience. South African wine for instance, instead of French or Spanish. European movies instead of Hollywood, Indian (Hindi only; Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada or Telugu would suit me just fine) or Chinese. You know, something different.

Now check this out:- they've booked me on Turkish Airlines.

Which, on other ocassions, would have suitably suited my (king-size) tastes; it is, after all, a very interesting post-modernist metaphor to change planes just as I'm about to enter a new continent. Unfortunately, given the current war situation, I'll have another experience to boot along; pretty sure I'll see F-21's and all that flying alongside my plane as soon as I enter Turkish airspace before landing at Ataturk International Airport, Istanbul.

Oh, I might have to dodge a couple of Scuds as well. Stay tuned; more on this as the situation develops.
