Journal Red Warrior's Journal: Taking polaroid pictures that are never in focus 9
Tuesday, stopped by real world work and went to lunch with a few of my co-workers. I am reminded that it may be somewhat difficult to post a lot on
Wednesday, My x and son met me in Olympia, and we went to the Children's museum there. Good day, even with the x and all.
Thursday, I was gonna go on the Seattle Underground tour. Have I ever mentioned that I hate Seattle? I hate Seattle. Finally, after navigating the one-way only, why would we want to have through streets maze that is Seattle, I got to Doc Maynards, 8 minutes after a tour started, with just an hour until the next one started, which would helpfully let me out just in time for rush hour out of Seattle. Took a deep breath, and went over to hang out at Talinom & RedHeaded Kitten's place. Did I mention that they just got Comcast? And that the seamless transition wasn't? Now that I'm temorarily out of throwing stuff at me range, I can admit that it made up for the hastle of Seattle. Shaudenfrouid? Something like that?
Friday, I picked up my son, with the intention of watching the Blue Angels. It rained the entire 100+ miles to pick him up. I was about 10 minutes later than planned. Was he ready to go? Nope. Grrr... So we leave the x's about an hour later. Still raining, no way we'll get there anywhere near in time to watch the Blue Angels (as it turns out, they cancelled due to the weather/cloud cover), but not to fear, I had a plan B, and we slogged through the traffic, got to pier 90/91 to go on the tour of the Navy ships. At 3:38. They closed the standby/space available line at 3:30. Grrr. However, my son had a plan C, and we went and spent a few hours at the Seattle Aquarium, which he really enjoyed. Then we got on the road, to where I was going to get a hotel room (I'm staying with my grandparents, but they smoke, the x would object, and I think it is maybe not the cleverest thing), however, he informed me that the wanted me to call my mom, and see if we could stay there. (She also smokes, but only outside, and has cut way back) They were OK with that, so we finished off the evening by staying up too late, watching Kids Next Door on Nick, and my son playing with his grandparents.
This morning we got out the door an hour or two later than planned, due to the whole playing with grandparents thing. We got to the Ren Faire around noon or so, about the same time the sun decided to stay out. Enjoyed the Faire, as always - though it seemed a bit smaller than in past years (I believe I know this to be false. It still takes up all of the same field, with all of the same boundaries, +/- 20 feet by the lists where the player tents seemed to start closer in). The pickle chick is no longer allowed to serve he patented "slightly warmed" pickles. Bastages at the Health Department, anyway.
In the morning, I'm going to go to church with my son, so I can see him take communion. I shake my head, but it's important to him. Shrug. After that, I either will or will not go back to the Ren Faire. Depending on the weather, my mood, etc. Maybe I can get an intro to the pickle chick... Or the knight- you said she was single, right?
Actually have no plans for Monday at the moment. Maybe I'll take the bus, and try to do the Seattle Underground again. Tuesday, not much plans for the day. In the evening, It will be rubbed in that I'm one year older. Wednesday is probable enchanted villiage/wild waves day - weather cooperating. Thursday, I'm gonna go to a Mariners game. Through the zen of life, it appears I may have an extra ticket, so if y'all know any hot chicks that are into the Mariners...
Friday and Saturday are pretty vauge. I get on an airplane a little after 8AM on Sunday. Yeah.
So far, a very good vacation. Luckily, I'll be able to catch up on sleep when I get back to Iraq.
Oh, and I also have a technocrat account.

"Ma'am, does your husband have hot nuts? Buy some here" and all that sort of thing. "And you look like you need a warm pickle", etc. Needless to say, I didn't see her actually selling too much -- people gave her a wide berth. ;-)
