any wget command that I run will give you the total size of the files you're going to get (du -sh gives disk usage summary human-readable :-)

Also, I check them to make sure they're not going to do anything "unexpected".

As for the general links, I'll have to look at them one at a time to determine where the image directories are, create a script to websuck, and post the script and results.

Anyone who wants to volunteer scripts is welcome, of course.
