Oculus Habent's Journal: Record Voter Turnout

I've got it: the way to ensure record voter turnout:

Have Jerry Springer run for President.

First, he's been in politics, so he has some credibility there - even if it's been mostly dashed by his television show.

Second, he's the name that everyone knows. All those people who don't vote because they can't be bothered to follow politics, learn about the issues, and generally understand what it all means still know who Jerry Springer is.

Finally, it's just wrong. You know it might work, though. :)

I learned my lesson a few years back. Looked at my options and voted against the Democrat and Republican options. As fate would have it, Jesse "The Body" Ventura ended up getting elected....

That's just it. Real politicians don't have a chance against people with major television/movie exposure. People who never would have considered voting will crawl over dead bodies to put an actor in office, because, "I know him!"
