Tip of the day: Don't pick up a laptop that's plugged into the network while stepping on the ethernet cable.

At least the PC card seems all right. I'll be making a Yodobashi trip this afternoon. Anyone got a request?

I did the same thing except with a stereo cable. Broke the jack off inside the hole.. that was fun to fix. If by fix I mean taking pliers and digging it out, making it virtually unusable.

But I did get a good chuckle out of your story.. amazing how things are funny when they don't happen to you :)

I did something similar with a short phone cord and thinkpad. You would not believe the looks I got from the service people when I showed them broken jack rattling in the computer. I can feel your pain.
