Who would dump you as a /. friend for that? Bizarre. As to the girl, you fell into the 'do these jeans make my ass look fat' problem. There is no acceptable answer. Women do not, under any cirucumstances, ask these questions for objective answers; they ask them for reassurance.

because I'm not sure if that was the reason he 'dumped' me..
I think the girl did want an objective answer. I guess that reassurance would have made her happier, but she didn't say she's angry on me for telling her what I really think... instead she kept mentioning how people never told her the truth before.
