If Israel wanted to "annex" Gaza, why did remove all their citizens and military from Gaza in 2005 and leave perfectly serviceable farms etc (which the Gazans promptly destroyed)? The only reason Israel was there was because Gaza was Egypt- and Egypt attacked Israel and lost it to Israel.

Maybe its more simple than that- maybe Gaza attacked Israel, started a war, and lost?
