Comment: Need to replace UEFI with CoreBoot (Score 5, Interesting) 179

The way of breaking that monopoly is to replace UEFI on machines with CoreBoot (http://www.coreboot.org/Welcome_to_coreboot). This still does not support enough hardware but given a bit of support from Linux friendly companies (e.g. Clevo, IBM etc) it could be done. Nobody's gonna believe that computers are intelligent until they start coming in late and lying about it.
