Journal KoriaDesevis's Journal: How to stir up a meeting 10

Ok. They told me I needed to dress up a little more for a meeting this morning. No jeans and t-shirts. Fine.

I did something a little bit different for them this time, and I think it made a lasting impression. I dressed up in, well, a dress. I have a very nice dress with a blue floral pattern and a nice pair of shoes to go with it. I *never* wear dresses to work, and it's rare when I wear a skirt to the office.

I did my hair in a french braid, just 'because', and I dug out the nicest necklace I own, a thin gold herringbone with a couple of silver beads. Finished it off with a couple of stud earrings.

When I walked in and sat down, everything just stopped, dead silence. It was great.

Even more interesting was the looks I got when the guys thought I wasn't paying attention. :)

a PVC or latex catsuit works really well.

What? I was just trying to help
  • Nothing like a change of image. :-)

French braids are particularly cool, IMHO. Not exactly sure why, but I've always liked them.

I'm not doing this every day! Tomorrow it's right back to denim and t-shirt. ;)

      • That's the good part. You don't have to do it every day. They will remember. :-) Vividly, if the silence is any guide.

Oh, they weren't being unreasonable. Any time one of us goes on site, we're expected to dress up a little more. I feel bad for the guys - they get stuck wearing ties and, on occasion, jackets. This was just my way of pulling their chains without doing anything wrong.

I hope they do remember. I rather liked the looks I was pulling from them. Sometimes it's nice to have a little extra attention.

          • I took it to be a signal that you made an impression. Not sure what you mean about being unreasonable. There's nothing like a little distraction to help the time pass in a dull meeting. :-)

Of course, ellem's suggestion would have had a somewhat different effect. Might have stirred up the meeting a little too much. :-)

I meant, asking me to dress a little nicer than Punky Brewster for a meeting is well within reason.

Would have been hysterical, I think. Sure, I would have been fired on the spot, but I would have the memory of the expressions on their faces for the rest of my life.

              • I see. Yes, that seems reasonable. Punky Brewster, huh? There's a blast from the past. :-)

Well, you could have said that you were expressing your inner Halle Berry (a la Catwoman). :-) Not sure if that would help or hurt, though.

You will be successful in your work.
