GMontag's Journal: Shotgun Update

Picked up the Saiga-12 today. Not exactly what I ordered and that stupid "big brother" fed and State check took over an hour.

It does have the 19" threaded barrel, but no choke tubes, no ramped sights and no sling. My dealer did order an extra magazine, so I bought it. Will pick up the choke tubes and an AK sling in a couple of weeks. Need to take this thing apart and clean/oil it tonight.

Still waiting for the new Benelli. Should be a couple more months on that one.

What size mags do you have, if they are the 5 round ones like these [impactguns.com], don't try to hunt in KY, 3+1 in the pipe is the max capacity allowed in any season in KY.

IL has some similar restrictions for most seasons, but I'm unable to authoritatively state that it covers all seasons...

On an unrelated note, I'm amazed that moderator points can be applied to individual journals. I just happen to have mod points, and it gave me the option to moderate the parent. That's weird.

Yes it has a 5 rd. box magazine and the 3 round limit is a federal migratory bird "preservation" law.

I will be shooting domestic clay, mostly :)

Suppose one could put 2 dummy rounds in the bottom or something, similar function to the plug used in a tube magazine, or find a 3 rd. mag.

Mostly that and wrappig up old job. Final time there is Monday and I get orientation with new firm Monday afternoon, then begin work with new people on Tuesday.
