Alternatives for Bush
On the matter of a constitutional marriage amendment.

A means of devolving popular authority, to be exercised by individual states, could be obtained by removing jurisdiction from the Supreme Court in matters having to do with marriage. Article III, Section 2 gives Congress the necessary authority to do this. "...the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make."
As I would prefer neither the federal, nor State governments from having anything to do with marriage, I guess I could live with this one.
