AL FRANKEN PREEMPTS? [Rich Lowry]
e-mail:

"AL FRANKEN QUESTIONS:

1. Was this not a preemptive strike?

2. Isn't it true, that the heckler did not pose an imminent threat to Dr. Dean?

3. The heckler was taunting, using language as a weapon, with no WMD evident.

4. Franken should have consulted the ACLU, Al Sharpton, Peter Jennings, and developed a multilateral consensus before attacking!

5. Isn't this shocking, Franken behavior reminiscent of Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Saddam Hussein, and Gore Vidal?

6. Why couldn't Franken give diplomacy a chance? Franken did not exhaust all avenues of diplomacy before his unilateral militaristic attack!
BR> 7. On what evidence, did Franken declare this heckler an illegal combatant?

8. This is not the first unlawful attack by Franken and friends. It follows unprovoked attacks on Kosovo, Somalia, Rick Lowry, and others."

  • per press accounts, Deans security guy was already trying to escort the guy out the event but wasn't able to so do single-handedly. Therefore, a scuffle had already ensued - and had this been Secret Service guarding the Prez or Dem presumptive nominee, this guy would be face down with a with about four guys on him. As at this stage in the primaries nominees supply their own security - this guy was an uncontained threat and Franken was well within his duty as a patriot to predict the possible future presid
    • Franken had NO AUTHORITY under ANY interpretation of ANY law to physically attack anyone.

Only if Franken himself were being attacked would he have the right to defend himself.

Bonus - The security guy is also on thin legal grounds when trying to "escort" someone out of a venue as well. (Not being a duly recognized legal authority.)
      • unfortunatly, Cy was who I thought I was responding to when I misread cyranoVR/daytonCM/trollboy/whomever's username in another post I responded to in this JE. Now the troll has camped out and is broadcasting his stupidity with no end in sight.
        • First of all, I'm not DaytonCIM. Why the fixation? Perhaps your anus longs for his return?

Secondly, the only stupid person here is you. I have yet to read a post of yours that demonstrates any cognitive skill besides the ability to regurgitate the latest slop from "The Skankiest Whore on the Planet" and her ilk.

I don't include David Horowitz in that group because - unlike yourself - he actually knows how to write and express an opinion in a coherent manner. One would think you might actually learn from

"a news photographer later told him Franken reacted to being elbowed by the protester, who knocked his glasses off." [theunionleader.com]

        So Franken was attacked.

        Happy now?
        • Read on:
When a second heckler -- apparently working in tandem with the first -- emerged from the audience, Dean security men and Franken went over to deal with him while the first protester headed to the balcony, Ramsey said.

Even if the first heckler injured Franken he was completely in the wrong to go "deal" with the next one.

Simply put, Franken was wrong. From the other descriptions it would seem that Franken actually entered the melee by his own choice.

          Additionally:
The heckler began yelling from t

Seems one of my trolls is gone to underground.
  • First of all, have you ever talked to those Lyndon LaRouche fanatics? HOLY CRAP those guys are NUTS. LaRouche and Co. think that FDR was the best president this country ever had and constantly compare the Republicans to Nazis (I have read tracts that they hand out in which they equate cutting social welfare programs to the atrocities of the Holocaust). If anything, GM should be praising the fact that somebody took that heckler down - Franken or otherwise.

I wonder: if it was a "Bush-Bashing Deanhead" heckl
    • First, it is a criticism of the self-called "free speech" folk doing what they keep accusing Conservatives of doing.

Secondly, where is an example of any conservative doing what Franken did? There isn't. We (me and all of these other people posting to this JE) are pointing out THAT hypocracy.

At least at the Dean rally, where some folks were merely displaying a Confederate Naval Battle Flag, the protestors were quietly ushered out and Dean demonstrated that he actually knows the words to "The Star Spangle
      • My my, looks like someone is failing in their New Year's resolution! And it's not even the end of January.

I thought you deleted my posts without reading them! Ah well...

If you mean "any conservative" - well BAHAHAHAHA! My sides hurt - ow!

However, if you meant "conservative pundits" - well, don't cry to me just because your beloved propaganda-peddlers are a bunch of PUSSIES. Yeah, I SAID IT. They have to get some thugs to do their work for them - at least FRANKEN is willing to get in there and mix
