From time-to-time, folks ask "Montag, why do you call your website "france
Is Occupied Germany"? I then launch into a bit of what you will see below.
Also, I cover the capitalization 'issue' with the 'f word'. Be patient,
the pointed answer will come after I cover some current events.
First things first, the inspiration for this rant came from Ken Lane today, "Is there some way to blame France for everything?" linked to this article and it is echoed here. Alas, that article will disappear eventually, so here are a few more.
Humm... the french... are you detecting a pattern gentle reader? WELL I DID A LONG TIME AGO! Yea, they gave us a cool hollow statue, the Trojans gave the their enemies a hollow statue too. They did bomb the greenpeace boat, that one must have been an accident. The 'french' blockaded a harbor or 2 during our Revolutionary War, while we just happened to be, coincidentally, fighting against their greatest enemy. So what have you done for us lately france?
Let's take a short walk down memory lane. The memories of so many are so bad, and I will give examples, so we can bring this issue into perspective. The issue of civil wars that the french involve themselves in is a good one. Let's take Iran a few years ago. "An Unnecessary War" by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt begins by completely ignoring the CARTER administration warming up to Iraq while Iranian students were holding the US Embassy staff hostage. They also ignore the fact that the time period they cover had multiple US administrations vs. just one Iraqi administration, then they blame the US for all of the wars in the mideast. "CHEW ON THIS" by C. Hitchens slays the rest of their non-points.
Back to my point. In the case of Iran, the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was in exile, in france. Iran had a french telephone system with the connections to the rest of the world centered in france. The so-called french gave a direct conduit to Khomeini allowing his fascist followers to get daily updates and erupt into a repressive regime, even more repressive than the Shah.
Next case, Libya. france would not allow US aircraft to overfly their precious 'territory' to bomb some sense into Dictator Momar Quadaffi. Coincidentally france was involved in the Sudanese civil war and was supporting the side that needed to keep Libyan forces out of the country.
The bombing seemed to have sobered up 'ol Momar, perhaps that is some medicine france could use? Humm... the city of light... an eternal afterglow from the destruction of all North Korean and french nuclear weapons... But I digress. So much for the civil wars and revolts.
What about WW II? I believe Ed Koch said it better than I in "Boycott france". He covers the french VOLUNTARILY shipping 61,000 Jews to their death in Germany, allows PLO terrorists safe haven in their 'country', etc.
Don't forget that the french rolled over for the German invasion(s), more proof that it is really the German west coast. French 'military officers' spend their time smelling up US Officer's clubs touting how their 'contribution' to the Allied efforts was key to defeating Germany. Oh yea, right.
french production has never been greater than when they had German managers, the list goes on.
france has been the doorway to western civilization, through which every invader marched. When the Romans came north they somehow beat civilization into everyplace they touched, except france. It seems England was the only place in the west where civilization took root.
When Germany invaded everyplace, under Socialist management, it seems the ONLY place that they brought civilization was france. And the french willingly housed, clothed and fed the Germans. Civilization left with the Germans too.
When the Muslims came to destroy western civilization, france was the open door, a way point... 'on the signpost up ahead... france'. This seems to be a two-way-street, with terrorists given the only licenses to use said street, see comments on Iran and the PLO above.
So, today, many have awoken from their slumber to yet another assault by france on western civilization. france has spewed their cheese-breath objection to another UN resolution against Iraq. As they do not have a real language, it is understandable that they "don't get it" and force has already been authorized in the last UN resolution against Iraq.
So, gentle reader, here are the things to remember about this 'french' nonsense:
it is NOT a country, it is merely a geographic area with no authority, similar to Antarctica;
'they' are NOT people, the term 'frenchmen' is a marketing ploy/joke by graduate students in romance language departments around the western world;
'french' is NOT a language, it is a collection of pretty-sounding made up noises by the aforementioned graduate students;
the 'franc' is not money, it is a hot dog.
Now that the fascists are gone from Germany, do ex-Mayor Koch one better, support regime change for the ungoverned territory, the rest will fall into place.
