Journal GMontag's Journal: Making things up to promote Marriage Fiction
My recent post about that fiction we call 'marriage' was inspired by a story at Reason, where the discussion is making even more strange turns.
Seems that some people will make up anything to "win" a discussion:
"When did adultery become irrelevant in divorce proceedings, especially in relation to property division, anyplace in the USA?"
Years ago with no-fault. Marriage went from a kind of contract you couldn't get out of without state-approved reasons to one that cost the party that wanted out (or acted that way) no more than the party that didn't.
That was apparently a response to one of my statements that 'marriage' amounts to a who-you-can-do list run by the government.
Somehow, 'Robert' has decided that some States adding the "no-fault" option has eliminated all other repercussions, or something, therefore you can have all of the affairs you like and it does not matter who sees you, you no longer will lose any property when the judges gavels you out.
I remain skeptical.
