Journal GMontag's Journal: I was for Swiss before I was against it
I heard about this the other day and thought it was a joke. I mean, really, The Honerable John F. Kerry (C-MA) did some goofy stuff in his life, said some wacky things too, but ordering swiss on a cheesesteak at Pat's in Philly? The longer I delayed looking it up the more I doubted it.
Turns out it is true, but that was not the stupidest thing at that photo op. Apparently, Kerry had an underling to run around and act/speak stupider than the candidate:
Kerry spokesman Robert Gibbs insisted that the candidate was "not taking a dainty nibble" of the steak. "I suspect that Kerry was thinking about provolone cheese but became distracted by thinking of the more than 3 million jobs that have slipped through the holes of George W. Bush's economic plan."
I think the only holes in any 'plan' were the ones in the cheese on the sandwich.
I must have been napping on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 because I think I might have remembered this, before I forgot it.
There is a current cheesesteak controversy at Geno's, across the street from Pat's.
