Cornell U: Fifty-four States AND Territories

A few years ago, I met a girl in Knoxville who had graduated from Cornell. Easy to remember as she kept repeating that she had graduated from Cornell.

She asked me what I did for a living and I told her that (at the time) I generated the Army National Guard Aviation Training Budget for the fifty-four States and Territories.

She informed me that there are only fifty States.

Had to spend the next 15 minuets explaining to her that there are also three Territories and the District counts as the fourth.

"But there are only 50 States"

Back to the Hydrogen Powered Jeep and perhaps a Harvard graduate? I am really trying to lessen the explanation time.

Just remembered why this one popped into my head: she was the last time I had martinis before that date with author. Creepy.
