Last Saturday by the Navy Memorial in DC I met the greatest girl in ages.

Pretty curly brown hair, deep brown eyes, newly moved from Illinois, smart, fresh from the CSPAN book fair on the mall.

We met at the counter-demonstration against the anti-america hippies marching by.

The "it" moment was when a Commie was yelling "where are the WMD?" and we responded together "Syria!"

Anyway, I spotted her early and she joined the group, but alone and I ran around people to say hello to her. She stayed with/followed me around until after 7, through getting lost (but nice tour) to the after-protest bar. Great conversation all of the time. Did not seem to mind that lots of people wanted to talk to me, men and women alike (I suspect it was because a hot woman was standing with me).

She mentioned a lot that she goes to Church a lot and she is Catholic. Maybe I have been around too many G-d hating Commies, so I just responded that it was nice (rather than the crap I get for believing in G-d). I do not attend much and should, but I did not go on about it, although I think I should go regularly.

Exchanged numbers, walked back to the METRO, rode a train until I had to switch and said goodbye, but were going to go out today. She did warn me that NEXTEL service is bad and her phone number is still IL, so messages might take a while.

I left a message Sunday, Monday, Friday and a text message Friday. No response.

She did seem to try to mask her age a bit, only saying she graduated from college 7 mos. ago. She knows I am a bit older than her (I was 31 when I graduated, not sure about her).

Anyway, I thought when a girl hangs around a guy that long, when she does not have to at all, that she was interested. Guess not this time and I am really sad because she is so "just right".

Not quite the same scale as the JE, but there was a really nice ex-USAF MP next to me on a train a while ago - unfortunately, for once the train actually ran on time, cutting it short :-(

NEXTEL says "Please hold while the NEXTEL subscriber you are trying to reach is located" then it will either go to voicemail (they are out of service) or ring, then go to voicemail (She's ignoring you). That's the key.

I feel your pain man. That is a tough break. I have had a few of those moments when she just seemd to be almost too good to be true. Though my "moments" did not involve me getting phone numbers because we already were part of the same big group of friends and the chance of meeting againt was nearly 100% for the next week. But then nothing comes of it the next week.... I notice that she acts the same to other guys and then realize what I thought was the "moment" nothing unusual at all. Dang.
