MTA: SA v1.03 released - Open Source MMO Mod 1

Funzo22 writes "Multi Theft Auto(www.mtavc.com) is a very cool, open source project that adds full online multiplayer capabilities to Rockstar's infamous Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It's completely free to download either the server or the client and there are lots of free servers setup that you can join, register on and start doing jobs, catching criminals, racing for loot(but if you choose the life of crime be careful to avoid incarrceration as it will result in up to 3 minute timeout depending on how wanted you are). The point of eveything is so that you can have fun and build up the funds in your bank account so one day you can hopefully retire, buy a house and be free to do whatever you want for the rest of your days.

The project is very complex and has been facing statability issues in the past as it is still in very active development, with the 1.03 release it is becoming a much more stable project, ready for widespread adoption.

My hat goes off to the developers for putting so much effort into building something that most would think to be impossibly complex especially on a closed source game.

How long do you guys think till they get a cease and decist letter from rockstar?"

You should really read the post before responding to it, I'm not looking for an adapter, I know the adapters exist, this iMac will refuse to accept input that is converted using those adapters, it ONLY accepts input from mini display port. However I do find hte mini-display port to vga adapter quite interesting because my store gets asked for them all the time but I have been advised by more senior employees that such an adapter does not exist without a super expensive converter box, I guess I'll have to make an inquiry about that.

Funzo22 writes "As I'm sure a lot of you are aware, the new 27" models of the iMacs have external input via mini display so that it is possible to use the display for another device. The issue is that it only works with mini display port devices, if you use an adapter from hdmi or dvi it will not work (as a side note VGA cannot be easily converted to mini display port because it's analog).

As a sales person for an apple reseller I would be really interested to find a solution that I can recommend to customers to hook up devices that do not use mini display port. I think it's only right that if you spend between 2 and 3 grand on a computer and monitor, you should be able to hook whatever you want into that monitor, not just apple devices, since they're the only ones using mini display port for now."

Funzo22 writes "It has been a while since there was any news about the Click N Run service going live for the various linux distros, but for the past couple of weeks it said that the Click N run Service was planning on going live within 2 weeks. Now, when I visit their website, as I am doing from my Ubuntu computer, it seems to be live, however there is no way to install applications, everything in the FAQ makes reference to a Firefox CNR plug in, but no such thing appears to exist."
