Form-o-Stuff writes: Researchers at UC Irvine and Dartmouth College were among the first-place winners of IBM's Cell Broadband Engine Professor University Challenge for networking 3 Playstation-3s to mimic the brain's visual process.
"The efficiency of the team's work with the system became evident when it was reported that there is only a one-second delay in the amount of time that it takes for the device to recognize an object."
