Apple Patches Massive Holes In OS X 246

Trailrunner7 writes with this snippet from ThreatPost: "Apple's first Mac OS X security update for 2010 is out, providing cover for at least 12 serious vulnerabilities. The update, rated critical, plugs security holes that could lead to code execution vulnerabilities if a Mac user is tricked into opening audio files or surfing to a rigged Web site." Until the recent 3G launch and the 2.0 firmware upgrade you could not even save files to the device without installing a 3rd party 'hack'.

This is something that has been possible for a long time on wireless devices but was crippled by Apple. During this time they were claiming the same things regarding its capabilities ala the Internet. "We do it all"

And now, how about downloading and installing an application outside of the App Store? oh right not possible without another 'hack'.

Therefore, who cares about flash etc, you can't even perform simple protocols on the device.

Comment I voted Enterprise (Score 2, Interesting) 926

An average episode of Enterprise was much better than an average episode of any other series of Trek.

People complain about continuity with other series, but all are guilty of that:
TOS - UESPA? Starfleet? What's the diff?
TNG - Klingons are all about honor? Tell that to the ones on TOS
DS9 - Trills look different to the ones in TNG
Voyager - Faster than Warp 10? (Actually, that's consistent with TOS, so which series is right?)

People complain about the time travel: all TNG era series used time travel in the finale except DS9. They made a whole TOS crew movie about time travel

People complain about T'Pol and her lack of clothing: Please watch TOS again people.

Sure, bad ENT is really bad. But bad Voyager is way worse. Spock's Brain is a terrible episode. How many times did Wesley save the ship in TNG? How many "The Chief gets his brain fucked" episodes were there in DS9?

I voted for Enterprise because it was pretty good most of the time. Which is better than the rest of the shows.
