Comment Re:Cheaper and better than cable (Score 1) 224 224

I already cut my family's cable subscription. The only stations we were watching outside of the broadcast networks were sports stations, Comedy Central, Food Network, and HGTV. Hulu (and some other online sources) lets us see most of the shows we want to see, and the ad content is much easier to handle than on actual TV. And as for sports stations, if I really want to watch a game, I can make a trip to a sports bar for the day and still come out ahead.

Submission + - Student Attacked After Dropping Cake-> 17 17

An anonymous reader writes: "School security guards in Palmdale, CA have been caught on camera assaulting a 16-year-old girl and breaking her arm after she spilled some cake during lunch and left some crumbs on the floor after cleaning it up. The girl, Pleajhai Mervin, told Fox News LA that she was bumped while queuing for lunch and dropped the cake. After being ordered to clean it up and then re-clean the spot three times, she attempted to leave the area out of embarrassment but was jumped on by security who forced her onto a table, breaking her wrist in the process."

Submission + - Coppola loses all his data 4 4

Colin Smith writes: This is really an object lesson in backup methodology.

Film director Francis Ford Coppola has appealed for the return of his computer backup device following a robbery at his house in Argentina on Wednesday. He told Argentine broadcaster Todo Noticias he had lost 15 years' worth of data, including writing and photographs of his family.

Once you have backed everything up... Take it somewhere else!
