What I loved was how I saw the straight guy/funny guy act coming from a mile away, but I expected the other guy to be the one saying the bizarre stuff. When Stewart stared uncorking the bit about clothes falling off, with the mortified extra just sitting there gaping, it caught me totally off-guard. Brilliant bit of reversal.
It also had the bonus of avoiding the obvious, easy joke (such as "I'll bet you're gay" or whatnot).
Haven't seen the series either, actually. I stumbled across it looking for something else, saw "Patrick Stewart humor" and wondered what it was.
Believe me, I wish we could get satellite so we could get British TV. Unfortunately, our flat doesn't have a clear view to the south, so no satellite for us.:-(
yes--it is very good if i may say so myself.:) it's that type of subtle, hilarious humor. ben stiller was really good and, believe it or not, so was whatshername from titanic. i like her as an actress (despite titanic), but i just can't remember her name. oh well.:)
of when Patrick Stewart was on SNL back in...hmmm....spring of 94 my freshman year of college. He did one skit about sexually transmitted disease or something, but his big tag line was "Just Say No To Anal Intercourse", and he is sitting there with a plastic model of a visible rectum, going over his spiel about it problems with anal intercourse or something like that.
It was a very amusing moment for my friends and I. Sitting there watching Captian Picard on tv with a clear plastic rectum. I wonder where
I enjoyed Love Boat: The Next Generation [youtube.com]. One I can't find is the skit he did with Mike Myers with the "If it's not Scottish it's CRAP," line in it.
He needs to do more comedy.

Thank you! That was great. Is that show "Extras" this funny throughout? May have to look for it on bittorrent. We don't get that show in
