Journal Cujo's Journal: Politics: Got a feeling about 2008? 3

The vibrations in the blogosphere are that the GOP will nominate Giuliani next time. Yes, a "liberal" Republican. Call it the South Park Uprising. His running mate is wide open, but ther are loads of heffalumps who want Rice in the top slot (she says she doesn't want to run). I wonder if Rice isn't perhaps too private a person for that level of media exposure. The case that the GOP needs the fundie contingent represented on the ticket will fail if you can deliver New York, and even more so if you can fragment the black voting block.

As for the Dems, the only thing I'm sure of is that Edwards will be nowhere in sight. I think he's a main reason Kerry lost - it's hard to whip up enthusiasm for such a pathologically insincere person as Edwards. As for Hillary, she may wait this one out, as many are speculating, so she can do her full term in the Senate. It will take time, after all, to save us from all that smut in video games.

Don't get me started on the Libertarians - that windmill is going DOWN, baby!

  • For what it's worth, my vote will go to whoever has the longest, clearest, most forceful history of speaking out against the war in Iraq. If there is a tie I'll probably use general science literacy or basic understanding of technology to decide.

But this attacking defenseless people because they sort of look and talk somewhat like the people who hurt us (while letting the real culprets off scott free) is childish and has to stop.

P.S. As for Edwards, I think Kerry was perfectly able to lose on

    • So you're voting Libertarian?

      • Quite possibly.

I voted for Badnarak (sp?) last time, after the second debate when neither Bush nor Kerry even acknowledged that he (and Cobb) been arested to prevent them from serving Bush & Kerry with the court order regarding third party participation in the "non-partisan" debates.

If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are real good, you will get out of it.
