Journal Journal: A web site leveraging p2p to dynamically add content

I am planning on creating a web site that will leverage p2p. It will use a java applet that implements the JXTA protocols. I plan on allowing chat, and a distributed knowledge base, (not to mention the obligatory file sharing).

My current ideas are to use Enhydra for the web application server. And leverage existing projects to get the functionality I want. I'm thinking of using Jabber for chat and presence (or should I use JXTA for that?), and perhaps LDAP for the user database (or should I go with DB2 or mySQL or something).

The way I think I will do it is by having the applet handle all the p2p functionality. The applet will have its own frame (in the browser used to view the page). And the traditional web functionality (such as reading articles, etc.) will be in the other frames.
