Anarchysoft writes "As many as 1500 pentagon computers were brought offline on Wednesday in response to a cyber attack. Defense Secretary Robert Gates reported of the fallout both that the attack had 'no adverse impact on department operations' and that 'there will be some administrative disruptions and personal inconveniences.' When asked whether his own e-mail had been compromised, Gates responded, 'I don't do e-mail. I'm a very low-tech person.' There was no word whether the pony express was affected by the 'cyberattackers.'"

iPhone to Allow 3rd Party Development->

Anarchysoft writes "In an exciting change from previous statements, Apple CEO Steve Jobs revealed at the D:All Things Digital Conference that 3rd party development will be supported on the iPhone. Questions remain as to whether the opening of the platform, slated for later this year, will be through Dashboard-like Widgets or a separate SDK."

UK to Allow Creation of Human-Animal Hybrid Embryo

Anarchysoft writes "The United Kingdom has lifted a ban preventing the creation and use of hybrid embryos in scientific testing. The hybrids are 99.5% human and 0.5% animal and can be used to grow stem cells. The nearly human embryos would be terminated before being grown 14 days per law."
