+ - Storm8 iPhone Data Theft Burns Other Devs->

Submitted by AmazingRuss
AmazingRuss (555076) writes "In response to the Storm8 data theft fiasco, Apple recently tightened up it's app evaluation process, and began rejecting apps that referenced the API calls utilized by Storm8 in the exploit. An unintended consequence of this action was mass rejection of all apps created with the popular Unity game engine. It turns out that the Mono implementation that Unity is built on has been using two of these API calls internally for null reference handling.

As a result, most (but, maddeningly, not all) Unity apps that have been submitted for the last couple of weeks have been rejected, and placed at the end of the 12 — 14 day evaluation queue."
