DNS Hijacking moves to Cable in the UK->

Submitted by AgentX
AgentX writes "Following Comcast's move to DNS Hijacking, VirginMedia (who hold a monopoly on cable in the UK) are the latest ISP to introduce this. They do offer an opt-out but the majority of customers will probably ignore it. In the FAQs they explicitly state that they will be making money from this service. Is hijacking DNS for monetary gain (and "assisting customers") appropriate and acceptable?

They offer a feedback form so if you are a VirginMedia customer you can use it voice your (dis)approval of their new service."

ME TOO!

Oh, and in case anyone needs help getting the "Spend all my modpoints" achievement, I'd be happy to accept Funny mods. Here, I'll even tell a penguin joke.

A vacationing penguin is driving through Arizona, when he notices that the oil-pressure light is on. He gets out to look, and sees oil dripping out of the motor. He drives to the nearest town and stops at the first gas station.

After dropping the car off, the penguin goes for a walk around town. He sees an ice cream shop, and being a penguin in Arizona, decides that something cold would really hit the spot. He gets a big bowl of vanilla ice cream and sits down to eat. Having no hands, he makes a real mess trying to eat with his little flippers.

After finishing his ice cream, he goes back to the gas station and asks the mechanic if he's found the problem.

The mechanic looks up and says, "Well, it looks like you blew a seal."

"Hm? Oh, no," the penguin replies, "it's just ice cream."

I can has funny? :D

Wow that actually was funny, I'm surpriesed. *Stores for future reference*

Modpoints if I had 'em.

This is a complete myth. Plenty of Wii games read the game disc continuously, and there is no evidence that continual reading causes any damage to the laser whatsoever. That said, DVD playing with homebrew is currently not the best quality and is a bit buggy, but things are improving week by week.
