Comment Android Beats Apple Again (Score 1) 206

I am an Android user

Me too, and I think that the fact that I have a 5.5" Phone in my pocked that cost a third the price of the iPhone, and in every way is better. Screams otherwise. I like my music Bass heavy and headphones to look good...like my phone, hell I could use the money I save by not buying an Apple.

iPhone users, by and large, couldn't care less what kind of phone you use. The world needs more options and fewer snobs.

Comment Shipped figures vs Sale figures (Score 1, Informative) 206

Apple always reports actual sales

No...no...nope from a random 10K..."Product is considered delivered to the customer once it has been shipped and title and risk of loss have been transferred. For most of the Company’s product sales, these criteria are met at the time the product is shipped. For online sales to individuals, for some sales to education customers in the U.S., and for certain other sales, the Company defers recognition of revenue until the customer receives the product because the Company retains a portion of the risk of loss on these sales during transit."

So measure like every other company.

Comment Apple repeated Myth No #1078 (Score 0) 206

Apple uses the actually sold numbers, Android used the hidden in the supply chain number.

Apple NEVER has used sold it has always stated that it counts them as sold because if only ships what it know it will sell. Always has check its the investment part of its site. It is actually more hilarious as Apple has to *cough* adjust its iPad figures after what was excused as changes in supply chain. We know see it is as Apple simply failing to sell iPads.

iPhone is a product, android is an industry.

Know they are both products, just on the iPhone...iOS...the OS is a Unique Selling Point, and it used to be a pretty good one. As opposed to Android sold at Zero cost to Manufactures of Phones, for collecting the revenue from Advertising and the revenue from the Play store.

You can only argue which has the better model(Short term profits vs Long term Market share), I personally think Androids is better long term.

Which idiot voted this nonsense up? Obviously there aren't 1.5 billion android phones sold per day, and Apple shares are not dropping, in fact they have been on an upward trend in the last 6 months.

Sorry Apple Market Share...It peaked back in 2012. Ironically its shares are only going up do to market shenanigans. Including buybacks..and Apples (Fuck America Yeah!) Bonds.

I am not sure if Apple is Like BMW with small memory, and storage, and screen resolution and battery..without features like waterproofing...maybe a smart car?

But one thing is for certain is that whatever make Apple is Android is Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Ford Toyota, Royals Royce etc etc

Comment Android sells one and Half Million every day (Score -1, Troll) 206

We're what, 9 billion people on this Earth and closest part of space and you want us to belive that 1 billion Android devices are sold every day?

A million is simply not as much as it used to be. Android sell 1 and half million devices daily last time I checked, although this was before the massive growth in places like India. Apples Share continues to drop.

Is that better. :)

Submission + - Is iOS 8 a pig? (trustedreviews.com)

kyjellyfish writes: This submission is more of an "Ask Slashdot" question than a scoop, and is not intended to denigrate pigs. I've been using iOS 8 for several days and aside from a few gimmicks and add-ons that attempt to achieve parity with Android, my experience has been overwhelmingly unsatisfactory. My chief complaint is that the vast majority of my apps are slow to boot and noticeably sluggish in operation. I want to point out that all of these apps have been "upgraded" specifically for iOS 8 compatibility. Previous operating system upgrades have been relatively seamless, so I'm asking whether other slashdotters have experienced this degraded performance.

Because 16GB it is considered useless with todays ever growing Application, Photo and Video sizes...and ironically OS Sizes. Even. National newspapers are discussing it http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sci...

Comment Comparing Apples with Apples (Score 1) 264

That's about right. I just checked my iPhone (4s), and in over two years of use, never cleaning anything, I've barely passed 5GB. By far the biggest use of space is recorded videos, followed by photos, then several big apps.

And it is not a good comparison. Photos and Videos take up more space on a phone because the cameras now are higher resolution, even though they are still tiny compared to the opposition, and Apps are growing exponentially I have several Apps that are GBs. I know Apple does not have as many Apps as Android, but I would find it astonishing if it were not the same.
