Often the first step I take for non-trivial problems is to think "has anyone does this before" and "did they share how they did it". You can often find a block of code on stackoverflow or someone's blog that does the trick. You should of course cite your source if it's a longer section or complicated one (this helps you later or others figure out what's going on), and licensing has to be kept in mind, but there's no point in redesigning the wheel every time.

Remember back in 2008, when Obama got elected with a safe majority in both houses?

No, because the senate was still dysfunctional due to the filibuster requiring 60 votes. The dems only had 59 votes while Franken's race was being resolved, then 60 for a short time before Kennedy died.

In a functional government, one party wouldn't attempt to block all legislation at all costs (even bills that were their idea!). With a super majority, not everyone in the party should even need to be in agreement, but that's how it was because the gop preferred gridlock.

And why, exactly, do you think any of those rich individuals and corporations would remain in America, when you're forcing them to work just so you can steal their money and give it to the people who don't?

The US would still be a very lucrative market - especially since everyone would have a minimum income they are able to spend. Say we put taxes at a ridiculous 90%. Would you as a corporation rather take in 10% of $1 billion or 0% of $1 billion. Take your time on the math.
