If it is a good retail location, look at storing the DVDs in a more efficient manner to make room for other products to sell. I would look at what is missing in the area of the store and see if you could offer that as well. Maybe serve good espresso, and make room for a few tables if it is allowed by zoning laws.
While I think this would be great to deal with the waste that already exists, I think for budgeting 200 years is longer than anyone is willing to think anyways, so it won't make much of a difference to the financial viability.
Personally, I haven't upgraded yet so I haven't seen this. I wouldn't mind myself as long as:
A) doesn't do any "pre-caching" or use any bandwidth unless feature is opened.
B) easy to uninstall
C) doesn't come with the server version when you do have a GUI.
If Ubuntu violates any of the above I'll be using other distros from now on.
