As I stated on my recent tweet: "Do we really need DNS afterwards? Give me an IP and I'll give them a shortened URL through Social Nets" - http://twitter.com/#!/brunoborges/statuses/10682824059256832 I don't think DNS is needed anymore, at least for websites. With the advent of URL shorteners, we all can publish websites online, without DNS, and through Social Networks show it to the world, easily through some link like http://bit.ly/myFooWebsite. DNS is, IMO, the last hope for Internet control. I have no idea how E-Mail or other protocols could deal with an Internet without DNS, but surely there's a way. Maybe, not invented yet.

Really, do I need that much columns on my display? No. I need lines. If you want to give me columns, please give me a second display! And I will produce more, attend customers faster looking for log files and code at the same time, etc, etc... I also would like to rotate my screen. Do you know that huge log file? I can't look at the whole stack trace without paging down three times! It's a pain in the *ss.

Why, oh why, you didn't ask me which kind of display I needed? Is it too hard to ask me, your employee — specially because I *understand* about computers; because I work in a department called IT — which display I'd like to have?

Thank you so much boss, for downgrading my monitor. Now you have an upset employee that wasn't asking for a paycheck increase. What I did want was a better monitor. A better hardware. More RAM memory. A faster Hard-drive. And maybe, MAYBE, if possible! a second display.
