Submission + - Firefox 3 Alpha Available Already

WebHostingGuy writes: "On the heals of the 2.0 release Firefox has made available the alpha release of Firefox 3. A CNET editor reviews the alpha release of Firefox 3 and states that the new version of Firefox has some significant changes. Most notably are the changes to the search engine and its advanced graphics rendering capabilities. Interesting though, Firefox 3 will no longer support Windows 95, 98, and Me, Mac OS X, and all versions 10.2 and earlier."

Submission + - Microsoft Exec: I'd rather use a Mac

WebHostingGuy writes: "As reported by CNET a senior Microsoft Executive has found out why you should not save emails (although there are federal rules about saving emails now). In the Iowa antitrust litigation, Comes v. Microsoft, Inc. Jim Allchin stated in an email to superiors, Steve Balmer and Bill Gates, that "if I didn't work here I would buy a MAC". Mr. Allchin attempts to spin this email in his blog by stating Vista is better than ever."

Submission + - Thoughts Alone Move Bionic Arm

WebHostingGuy writes: "A man with a bionic arm only uses his mind to move and control his artificial limb.

From the article:
The motions are coordinated and smooth because his left arm is a bionic device controlled by his brain. He thinks, "Close hand," and electrical signals sent through surgically re-routed nerves make it happen. The re-routed nerves receive thought-generated impulses, and the muscle activity is picked up by electrodes; these relay the signals to the arm's computer, which causes motors to move the elbow and hand, mimicking a normal arm."
