Actually, even if you consider all the cold facts consistent with evolution "no hard evidence", then the soft evidence for it is still infinitely more than for any god.

There are hundreds of religions. If one assumes there is only one true religion divulged by god, the others are made up by humans. So, it is possible for humans to invent a religion. Now, about that "real" one... . Does it really trump the theory of evolution?

His rhetoric question is also a bona fide straw man. I would feel uncomfortable yes and having sex with my mother would make me off the scale uncomfortable (both not just because she's dead). With another woman on the other hand, not so much, but still depending on who she is.

So, different people may have different feelings when it comes to a person or a picture thereof. Someone who only digs blondes or is gay may be like "meh"; no complaints were mentioned, if any. Other people get off on shoes.

Probably it was not too much too ask that the teacher had offered alternatives so as to increase the likelihood that an even greater number in the class like doing their assignment.

You can make a problem of anything. Look for a person. Why is it a man/woman? OK, one of each. Why is it a person of that skin color? Why is it a person of that age? Pffff.

I'm a Dutchman. I've been on on-line dating sites and length is definitely high on the list of desirable features Dutch women are looking for. It is explicitly stated. I'm 4 inch/10 cm shorter than the Dutch average for young people, and may length has definitely been a disadvantage.
When I'm abroad (say southern France), I feel TALL.

Is this desire for tall men just Dutch or is it a general thing?

Bert
Apart from being tall, being able to play guitar is also looked for. At least that is something one could do something about.

Thanks for the reply and the elucidation. I think it is a very good custom that saving a human life takes precedence.

Yes, I had a blunt way of posing the question. I'm not really sorry about that. Being without any factual basis, religion is a personal hobby and should not affect other people's lives. These days, the news is rather filled with items that are at odds with that.

It is rather sad that science is brought to the battle field (both for killing and surviving). If only soldiers limited themselves to taking their holy book with them and praying the enemy to death. There are no theists in foxholes, I guess.
