US Air Force Buying Another 2,200 PS3s 144

bleedingpegasus sends word that the US Air Force will be grabbing up 2,200 new PlayStation 3 consoles for research into supercomputing. They already have a cluster made from 336 of the old-style (non-Slim) consoles, which they've used for a variety of purposes, including "processing multiple radar images into higher resolution composite images (known as synthetic aperture radar image formation), high-def video processing, and 'neuromorphic computing.'" According to the Justification Review Document (DOC), "Once the hardware configuration is implemented, software code will be developed in-house for cluster implementation utilizing a Linux-based operating software."

Its a stenographic method. It requires some executing code (malware, software vunerability, w/e) to jump to the ASCII text and begin executing it. Its like camouflaging the battering ram to look like the countryside. You still need someone on the inside to lower the drawbridge.

How about private space flight? They'll take risks so long as there's profit involved. Only problem is we gotta figure out how to convince them that space, the moon, and mars are profitable.

If I live in a state that goes 49% for party X, and 51% for party Y, you can't even argue that giving 100% of our states votes to party Y makes the least bit of sense.

Good thing they're not arguing that then. They're assigning delegates based on the majority of the National popular vote, not the state's popular vote. And it does make sense on the national level.
