Comment Botched? Really? (Score 2) 119

Couldn't the submitter couch the phrasing in something sympathetic. Yes, it's the Russian's 5th failed attempt, but rocket science is...rocket science. It's not easy.

A lot of Russians put effort in trying to get it right. Why verbally piss on them like that?

Disclosure, I'm American.

Silencing dissent... Yet another American "job" getting outsourced.

I jest, but it's not like the US (where I was born and live) hasn't tried this sort of thing. The Internet kill switch, taking down sites without due process, and the need to filter the whole country.

This sort of shit needs to stop. Which will only happen when the government is "for the people" again, and not "for the corporations."

The Devil sits on his throne in Hell. On of his minions comes running in.

"Sire! Sire! Microsoft has ported Windows to a mainframe!"

The Devil favors him with a surprised look. "Is it that time already? The end of the mortal world?"

The minion genuflects before him. "Yes! Yes! End of times, master!"

The Devil rubs his chin. "Windows on a mainframe?"

The minion nods emphatically.

The Devil considers it for a few moments, "Well, I don't think I want it anymore."

It's funny when you think about it. Some Americans take drugs to feel better about themselves, but non-Americans talk shit about Americans to make them feel better about themselves. Well, I guess the later is cheaper...

Apple Sued Over Use of iCloud Name 394

tekgoblin writes "iCloud Communications is suing Apple for the use of the iCloud name which they have the rights to. According to the lawsuit: 'The goods and services with which Apple intends to use the “iCloud” mark are identical to or closely related to the goods and services that have been offered by iCloud Communications under the iCloud Marks since its formation in 2005. However, due to the worldwide media coverage given to and generated by Apple’s announcement of its “iCloud” services and the ensuing saturation advertising campaign pursued by Apple, the media and the general public have quickly come to associate the mark “iCloud” with Apple, rather than iCloud Communications.'"
